The Atlanta Hamfest is a premier annual gathering for amateur radio enthusiasts in Georgia, recognized as a ARRL Convention. Traditionally held at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta, this event has a rich history dating back 98 years to its origins atop Stone Mountain, where members of the Atlanta Wireless Society (now the Atlanta Radio Club) convened to celebrate their shared passion for radio communications .​

Forums & Presentations: The Hamfest is renowned for its informative sessions. For instance, in 2024, Tom Crowley, KT4XN, discussed STEM education and his experiences mentoring students in radio astronomy at Paul Duke STEM School and Georgia Tech .

Vendor Booths & Exhibits: Attendees can explore a wide array of radio gear, accessories, and more, catering to both seasoned operators and newcomers.​

Tailgating: A vibrant outdoor area where participants can buy, sell, and trade equipment, fostering a sense of community and shared interest.​
